General info

Malta is located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea, on the southern tip of Europe, strategically located between Sicily, Italy and North Africa.  It is conveniently just a few hours’ flight from most major cities in Europe and North Africa, it offers daily flights to major European and North African cities. It enjoys an excellent Mediterranean climate, with very mild winters and warm to hot summers and is stable and safe with a very low crime rate.

Malta has a 7,500-year history, it has a highly cultured, well-educated society and is one of the smallest populated countries in the world with little over 450,000 residents. The government of Malta is democratically elected, it is a republic whose parliamentary system is modeled on the British system and has a very strong legal system and well established institutions.  It enjoys a highly evolved educational system and excellent health services. Malta is classified as an advanced economy together with 32 other countries according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), it has highly developed industry, tourism and financial sectors, and is well linked with Europe and the world.  A robust, EU-compliant regulatory framework, diverse ecosystem and highly-skilled workforce help contribute to the success story of European Malta.
