Nauru Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) conducts a thorough due diligence procedure on all applicants to ensure that only reputable individuals and families obtain citizenship. The government appoints a preferred due diligence agency to conduct international and local background checks using sources like Interpol, World-Check, and other government agencies.

Citizenship Invest will pre-screen your passport against financial intelligence databases to confirm eligibility before initiating the Nauru citizenship application process. The first instalment of CI professional fees is required to begin your application.

Once due diligence and Government processing fees are paid, the Nauru Program Office will begin to conduct a through review and due diligence process.
The due diligence process typically takes one to two months, and applicants are required to fully cooperate by providing any additional documentation if requested.
All applicants 16 years and above shall attend an interview undertaken virtually or in-person.
After completing due diligence, the Nauru Program Office makes the final assessment and issues a decision. Citizenship Invest receives the Letter of Approval in Principle. The required donation must be made at this time.
Once the government confirms receipt of funds, Nauru citizenship is issued.
