INVESTMENT TYPE & COST

The government of Antigua and Barbuda offers three options for individuals to become citizens through its Citizenship by Investment Program.

OPTION 1

Non-refundable contribution to Antigua's National Development Fund (NDF)

The cost varies depending on the number of applicants and their ages

  • Single Applicant USD 100,000
  • Cost for a family of four USD 130,000
  • Cost per additional dependent starting from the fifth USD 15,000
  • Each additional qualifying dependent of any age USD 25,000

The NDF is subject to parliamentary oversight, with a six-monthly report presented to Parliament in sufficient detail to allow for transparency and accountability. The fund is also audited by an internationally recognized accounting firm.

OPTION 2

Real Estate Investment in Government-Approved Projects

Real Estate Investment through one of the Government approved real estate asset classes: freehold property with title deed; hotel shares; fractional ownership or land. The investment and Government Fees are payable once the citizenship is approved.

  • Minimum Investment (Must be held for 5 years) USD 200,000

OPTION 3

University of West Indies (UWI) Fund

The University of the West Indies (UWI) Fund is a mechanism for financing UWI’s fourth landed campus in Antigua and Barbuda. Participation in the option will entitle one member of the family to a one year, tuition only, scholarship at the University of the West Indies1.

  • Non- Refundable Contribution for minimum of six (6) family members) USD 150,000 (and above)

Applicants to the Citizenship by Investment Programme who choose this option will be required to make an investment of US$150,000 for a family of six (6) or more1. The University of the West Indies is a regional institution that provides service and leadership to the Caribbean region and wider world.

It has over 50,000 students and four major university centres: UWI Mona (Jamaica), UWI Cave Hill (Barbados), UWI St. Augustine (Trinidad and Tobago), and UWI Five Islands (Antigua and Barbuda)

DUE DILIGENCE & BACKGROUND CHECKS

Applicable to all options

The government requires mandatory background checks to ensure the integrity of the program. A government-appointed due diligence agency conducts these checks and utilises different international and local resources, such as Interpol, World-Check, and other government agencies. The agency checks the applicants' profiles to ensure they are of good character and pose no security risk to Antigua and Barbuda.

    Beginning the Process

    Citizenship Invest’s professional team will assist and advise you in collecting the necessary documents for Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment while pre-screening your passport to ensure we can submit the application to the Government. You must make a down payment for professional fees to start the application process.


    Once your application is ready for submission, you shall pay 10% of Government Processing Fees, Due Diligence fees, and Citizenship Invest’s submission fees. Citizenship Invest will submit your application on your behalf.

    Government Evaluation and Investment Process

    The Government issues a report after conducting the necessary Due Diligence and evaluates it to determine the status of your Citizenship application.


    Once the Government approves your application, they will request that you donate directly to them or invest in real estate through the developer. Additionally, you will need to pay 90% of the remaining Government Fees to Citizenship Invest, and we will remit them to the Government on your behalf.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Age

Must be over 18 years old to be the Main Applicant

Good Character

Must not have been denied entry to countries with visa-free agreements with Antigua and Barbuda.

Health

The applicant must be in good health and provide a medical certificate to prove it.

Residence

The applicant must spend at least five days in Antigua and Barbuda within the first five years of obtaining citizenship.

  • Children between 18 and 28 years old must provide a letter of recommendation from a recognised institution of higher learning.
